Living The Dream!
Brittany, was born in the rural farming community of Freeport, IL on April 2 but at a very young age moved to Indiana with her parents Brian and Joy. During the next 11 years Brittany was involved in a number of activities but her most enjoyable experience was the time she spent as a Girl Scout. She was acknowledged as a young leader and top cookie seller for three years in a row. Just before she started 6th grade her family moved again, this time to Hamilton, Ontario Canada. It was at that time when she started to explore the world of fashion. It started when she designed her 8th grade graduation dress. She left Hamilton, Ontario three years later and moved to Knoxville, TN. She attended Farragut High School and was a member of DECA, French Club and played Powder Puff Football. One of her greatest moments was in 2007 when being crowned Dream Girls USA Miss Tennessee, and competing in St. Louis MO for the National title.
After graduation in 2010 she wanted to truly experience student life so she enrolled at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and rushed Kappa Delta. She realized fashion was her calling and decided to transfer to O’More College in Franklin, TN where she graduated from in May 2014 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. That is when she hit her stride.
Brittany can be descried as young, energetic, and possesses a strong work ethic as demonstrated by her ability to maintain two part-time jobs while excelling academically. While enrolled at O’More she made the Dean’s List four semesters, Presidents List two semesters, received an Academic Scholarship, Portfolio Scholarship. She also served as the schools Ambassador for two years, was the Treasurer for Student Government and the Fashion Association.
Brittany spent the summer of 2013 abroad, where she traveled throughout Russia and Scandinavia. There she as inspired by their use of color and geometric shapes which ultimately gave her the vision for her senior collection.
This young graduate is currently living in Atlanta, GA and working. Even though she has a full time job, currently not in fashion, Brittany still makes time to design and sew BMC originals.
